Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I want to buy a DVD player. I am based in Dublin.

    1. Can I buy a multi-region player?

    2. What makes/models are worth considering?

    3. Where should I look?

    4. Anything else I should consider?

    Many thanks.

    D.

Yes. I think Argos sell some. But most DVD players can be made region free using a remote hack (this just means turning on the DVD and entering a series of key combinations on your remote control)

I suppose the Panasonic, Pioneer, then Samsung, Sony.

Probably the web is the cheapest. www.komplett.ie

Check what connections the DVD player has:
    - Scart, Component, HDMI.
    - Optical, Co-Ax Audio output (for connecting to Home Theatre)

Also, you should check what formats the player supports - eg mp3, DivX

I suppose all the above really depends on what you need the player for and what is your budget:
Will you be making any home movies;VCD etc.

    Many thanks.
