    I'll stay online for while.

A huge pressure gradient between Rosslare 987 and Kilkenny 979 at 20z

Gust to 51, but strongest I think still just to south of me.

just got a gust of 49mph

I should see 60mph+ then within the hour I'd say.

The low (or at least one of them) is tracking up the centre of country at moment.

Weather station shows pressure rising sharply at the moment? Haven't had a gust over 118Km yet.

Really windy here in Citywest at the moment. I don't know the wind speed, but I've had flower pots and chairs thrown around the garden.

And the composter (which was full up) was knocked over.

Tis pretty darn windy here now in Carlow, seem quite up to a few mins back, but then some VERY strong gusts, they seemed the strongest of the night so far

Same here in Citywest. Tree out in the garden has come away from its supporting post. Nothing a couple of old belts couldn't sort out :)

Just been down the fields here with the ESB making a pole with trip lines on it safe-I was holding the torch, that guy was brave climbing the top of the pole in that wind.

He told me the power is out all over the place now and more and more reports coming in.They are only trying to make lines safe now,its impossible to even attempt to fix them.

Our power could be off he said most of tomorrow too.

All hail the farm generator (again) \o/ :D

Winds gone down here, very calm and no rain either.:(

Pressure is on the up, temp is falling and wind is veering and mean down to 31mph.

Yes may have peaked but will be gusty for a while.

You are in the centre of the low pressure area-effectively the eye of the storm.
Its centre is over clare and limerick at the moment.
Us poor búggers are about to feel its southern flank,I think...

Winds were very strong from 7.30pm to 8.30pm, they were coming from the SE up the Nore Valley, but since they have gradually veered S and now the hills are protecting us, some turbulent gusts at times though.

Winds circa 25mph, gusts about 40-45mph. (Best guess)

Getting really bad in galway now

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,913 ✭✭✭Danno

Will these winds veer NW??? If so the wind will return back down the Nore valley, but the NW is more exposed

    Pickin' up?

It picked up an hour ago...I'd say we've had at least a few 55+mph gusts, stright in off the bay here in Dundalk. Getting stronger by the minute... a few of the last gusts have shook the house.
