We've had a male rabbit for 7 months and always planned to get him a companion.

Over this period he has reacted to us as a pet; likes a bit of petting every day. We got him a female companion about 3 weeks after we neutered him.

Initially he was hasseling her for ***. Now she is doing the same to him. (After his neutering - he finally is done with that).

His female companion rabbit does not want any contact with humans and is too young to be neutered (at least 3 months away).

Anyone got ideas to harmonise the situation?

Just give her time, some rabbits are nervous, some come around and some remain nervous. The behaviour you are describing is more of a dominence thing, ie I presume you mean she is mounting him. That's all normal and it will take a while for things to settle but they should be the best of friends in the long run. She will get used to you over time, just some take longer than others.

Thanks for that! She now appears to becoming more human-friendly. She is still jumpy but nothing like she was - she hasn't thumped in ages when we try to befriend her - so it is looking good!
