Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

And after that I think it was David Howell who tried downing two pints at once.

And of course tomorrow morning there'll be complaints about excessive drinking etc etc. The usual overreaction at this sort of thing.

I agree, there are the usual whingers giving out this morning BUT I ask you, should sports stars who are household names not show a little more restraint when celebrating.

Don't get me wrong but Champagne is OK as it is a seen as a frivilous celebration drink which ends up being sprayed more than drunk.

Guinness however being downed in one by the team captain, DC and DH does not demonstrate responsibility.

Anyways I think they were right to celebrate, but I do think that the whingers have a point.

Guiness will indeed be lving it. I was working behind a bar when the pint drinking was shown. Three guys watching were drinking a Gin & Tonic, a vodka & tonic and a pint of Heineken. As soon as the pint drinking was done on the telly one guy says well I guess we better join them.. gimme 3 pints a Guinness. IMagine that repeated round the world !!

Guinness did not put 1 penny in sponsorship for the Ryder cup.
However in the opening page of the spectator guide which was issued to every ticket holder, it said:
"Ireland, home of the green stuff, and the black stuff"
The Clarke and Woosie down 2 pints infront of millions (or seemingly, billions) of viewers.

What a weekend for guinness. Whats the odds on Clarke becoming the face of guinness in an advertising campaign?

This might have balanced out the decline in Guinness sales recently! ha!!!

Was quality... Woosie showed his age didn't he! he was soundly beaten by Clarke!
