Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Trouble networking with Linksys WRTG54GS

    Hi there,

I was hoping someone could help me. I have a Lap top (WiFI) connected to my Wireless Router (Linksys WRTG54GS) and I have my PC directly connected to the Router. I have Internet access to both through my NTL DSL modem connected through the Router.

The Problem is that I can not see the PC from the Lap Top and Visa Versa. I can now ping the IP Address of the PC from the Lap Top but I have no access throught Windows.

I am trying to Map a Network Drive but when I try and get into MShome I get no where.

Can someone help me how to set up a basic network through the Linksys WRTG54GS?

Thanks from a very frustrated newbie.....

    Brian

If you have software firewalls on your computers, you will need to set them to allow incoming traffic from the local IP range (192.168.x.1 - 192.168.x.254), or just from specific addresses if you are using fixed addresses in your LAN rather than DHCP.

Thanks for that. I set the Zone Alarms on both machines to accept the IpAddresses after doing an IPconfig on both machines. But Since reading your post I believe both are DHCP so I change those setting based on your post.

    Thanks,

    Brian
