    I'm just wondering whats the current firmware of PSPs in Irish shops and is it downgradeable to v1.5? Also whats the price of the most basic psp package?

    Anywhere from 2.6 to 2.81.

    The latest shipments are probably 2.8 or 2.81. If you can find some of the older batches you may strike it lucky and get a 2.7 or so that you can downgrade.

    Iirc, there used to be a site which tried to keep track of the psp firmware's in relation to the codes on the boxes, but I cant remember the link to it as it must have been at least 8 months since I saw it.

    Prices are around, what 200 or so? Dont have a clue, just take a gander around online and in shops to find out the price.

    A = 1.5 confirmed
    B = 1.51 confirmed
    C = 1.52 confirmed
    D = 1.52 confirmed
    E = 1.52 confirmed
    F = 2.0 confirmed
    G = 2.01 confirmed
    H = 2.50 confirmed

    version 1.5 allows the complete access to kernal mode, which in turn allows any "applications" to be run.

    Check there for info. read the forums and guides.
