Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Does anyone know a website that lists (in English!!) the reasons that someone may get a marriage annulled under Irish law, thanks.

Civil annulment is a bit of a minority sport since divorce was introduced. If you are after a Catholic Church annulment, then the Galway archdiocese has a useful website http://homepage.eircom.net/~gmtribunal/index.htm
Quite interesting, if that's your thing...

    Thanks for the replies.
Gobán Saor, the information isn't for me but not everyone and every situation is happily (or otherwise) resolved with divorce. I think calling it "a bit of a minority sport" is a touch glib and unfair to those who choose it.

Oops sorry, absolutely no offence intended. I just meant that the numbers pursuing civil annulment are quite small compared to the numbers of divorces and divorce is generally an easier process. You're quite right though, annulment can be a useful option in some circumstances though I discern a public policy trend to encourage the use of the Family Law (Divorce) Act in preference, probably because of the ability to apply for ancilliary orders.
I simply mentioned the church annulment thing as its actually far more common now than civil annulment. I didn't mean to be glib, sorry if it sounded that way.

I apologise for being picky, I can see where some people may use it just to be nasty. Thanks for the reply.

First of all a warm and friendly hello to all of you:),

does anybody in here happen to know, who pays for the annulment (of marriage), if I am the RESPONDENT, while my husband is the APPLICANT (which is the case).

The annulment would be impossible for me to pay, as I am financially not well off. :(

Please let me know. (If you know)...

    Thanks already:),

    cheers,
