Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Nope I tend to hit the tape deck play button when he hits the air.

    Will check rte archive later!

    Mike

PS is anyone here listening via Mt Leinster? Its gone off air several times in the last week or so.

I could hear it from a room next door to where the radio was playing.
My wife told me it sounded like he was joking off-air (or so he assumed)
with a colleague/production person, etc. It was humorous banter but
there was a little "focail dana" in there alright :)

I like Ronan Collins though. Entertaining and I thought he was
on the money when he gave his frank opinion on Louis and the
    talent/pop/you're a star competitions a while back.

his listeners are so old they proabbaly didn't hear it with their bad ears. he may have to apologise on monday but i reckon there won't be much of a deal made of it.

Indeed. His programme is a sanctuary... away from other stations and their playlists.

    Actually DMC or others.
Does anyone know what the Ronan Collins theme tune is ?
I asked this on the Boards.ie Music forum but noone replied :)
I know it's a really naff old timer brass band tune and I'm sure
I heard him call it out one day (Imogen, Imogene, Imagines?).

I'm only asking because I am a martyr for music and radio trivia :))

File won't play. Maybe they are editing it!

    Mike.

not edited listened to it again, heard the second (actually the first) slip right near the start of the call, he seemed to miss the fact that he left his mike open.

It's under the singles category. Alt. on 'A World Of Love'
    http://www.chapteronerecords.com/database.asp

It was also used on BBC radio as a theme tune - "John Dunn's start of show Imogene by Les Reed ".

It's just after 36 mins. Funny stuff! But who snatched what? And what was so funny?
The file's here - but be quick it'll get replaced tomorrow!
    http://www.rte.ie/rams/radio/latest/Fri/rte-ronancollins.smil

Anyone know how I can record this or download it? If you 'save target as' that won't be any use once they replace it with the new Friday edition.

Save the .smil file and open it with Notepad. Note/copy the URL e.g. rtsp://blahblah/blah.rm

Google for a program called "StreamBox VCR Suite", download and install. Paste the URL into it and away you go.
