Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I have a NOKIA 70 which has been paid for and is pay monthly. However I really want to get rid of the crappy vodafone firmware and get generic firmware. Vodafone have unlocked the phone for me - I have a meteor personal sim and work vodafone.

Can anyone tell me is it possible to remove vodafone firmware and if so where can I get it done.

Incidentally I called the nokia helpline on a premium number and all they could tell was that it is illegal which I find hard to believe.

I have also the upgrade the Nokia website which just gives the most updated version for the brand your IMEI is associated with which is Vodafone -

Shoud I just simply ask Vodafone??

    Thanks in advnace

Using the Nokia online updater will not allow you to flash it with generic firmware if the phone has branding (non generic firmware), it will only allow you to update to the current version released by whatever network you are on.

Nokia Service Centre FTW! Pop into them and ask them to flash with the generic firmware, the did it for me with my 6680. Dont take no for an answer because I know they can do it.

If you are in Dublin or Wicklow I can do it for you, or you can try one of the Nokia Service Centres, however under their contract with Nokia they are not supposed to do this, but you might get lucky

in the one on dawson street they put 3 firmware back on mine after i specifically told them not to. also, one of the staff was beligerent and the other was retarded. you might remember my thread about it at the time. its good to know they were lying when they said they couldn't put generic firmware on, effectively making me wait an hour to have my contacts and settings deleted

Again, Nokia Service Center. I got my Vodafone N70 reflashed before I even started using it!
