Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Strange PDA mail problem

Dell Axim X51. When its connected to my PC, I can send and receive mail on all of my accounts with no problem. When connected to my wifi network, I can send and receive my mail on all accounts except my IOL account (which goes with my broadband package).

    I'm guessing that:
    - because I can send / receive mail when synchronising, its not the mail settings at fault
    - because I can send / receive from other accounts on the same machine on wireless, its not the wifi settings that are at fault.

If both of the above assumptions are correct, why can't I send my IOL mail wirelessly?

(Re: WiFi connection PDA <-?-> Internet) Are you connecting via router, or is there a proxy, or Internet Connection Sharing, or what?
Are you using the supplied email software or 3rd party?
    What's the error message?

sounds like an IOL pop/smtp issue when using wireless if it only works through mediation of sync software on PC...

Am connecting to BT BB via a Belkin modem/router - Axim has 802.11b. Using Outlook that came with the PDA. Can't understand why there would be a wireless problem with IOL mail - surely wireless is just another way of exchanging information with the router - and anyway the laptop I'm synching with is wireless!

    Error appears as follows:
    - Maintains "connecting" status for c. 30 seconds (other e-mail accounts go to "logging on", then "sending & receiving" within maybe 5 or 10 seconds)
    - Error message appears saying "Unable to connect to the incoming mail server. Verify that the server name is correct, then try again to send and receive mail"

Like I can send and receive through my laptop - I can also receive when synched to my work PC, which hasn't got the same mail accounts set up.
