Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

taken from Loopz.co.uk (their official site)

    Orbital release soon

We have been sworn to secrecy and there isnt much more to say on the following news piece. Basically there will be another ORBITAL release in the near future.

No doubt there will be many questions but please do not email in as we will be unable to answer anything just yet.

More news on the next Orbital release when we get the green light...

    Watch this space....

That must be the shortest breakup ever (potentially)!
Now...if we could just get Leftfield back together; and Darren Emerson to rejoin Underworld!!

    :)

Aye, but wasn't Work more or less a best of? I don't think they've done enough between 2002 and the present for another best of.

My guess is the boys are bored and are gonna do some sort of concept album full of remixes or some such.

Good to know they're back....maybe some live shows to back it up too? :D

Great news! I look forward to hearing new stuff and sincerely hope they can be tempted out of retirement for a few live shows although it doesn't seem likely.

Lol - then all would be right with the universe! :)

Phil is producing with Nick Smith from Atomic Records in a group called longrange.

And Paul is producing music for video games and films.

Im a huge Orbital fan myself but my god they're (moreso Phil, Paul's stuff still has that recognisable Orbital groove) both putting out some awful releases at the mo. It's about time they got back together......

Or how about putting Leftfield, Underworld, Orbital and Liam Hewlett in a studio and not let them out until they've made an album.

Hmmm....just got wind of a very nice piece on Paul's myspace called Patchwork Guilt....very reminiscent of classic Orbital but more downtempo.
Coming out for limited release too.

Breakology, Bodytonic and Corona are proud to present one of the pioneers of electronic music and one half of possibly the most creative and influential electronic act on the planet; Phil Hartnoll along with his new project Long Range.
Phil and his brother Paul spent almost two decades on top of the electronic pile as Orbital, voted by 'Q magazine' as one of the top 50 acts to see before you die. One of their last ever gigs was at the ****** Festival in 2004, where they tore the house down. They released a total of 11 albums (one less than the beatles) and their songs featured on films such as The Beach, The Saint, Hackers and many more.

But it's Phil's new project Long Range, that has grabbed everybody's attention. Phil has teamed up with producer Nick Smith who has had his music used on films such as Hannibal. Their sound harks back to the ambient genius that was Orbital, from blissed out moments to jarred and broken beats - it refuses to be pigeonholed.
They will appear in Dublin performing an Ableton set, combining elements of their critically acclaimed full live show and a traditional DJ set, which will be followed by a Phil Hartnoll DJ set featuring a mix of Orbital clasics and whatever else takes his fancy. He might even test out the soon to be released new track from Orbital.

The gig takes place in Crawdaddy on the 17th of November and starts at 11.30pm.

Support on the night comes from Breakology resident Phulu. Tickets, priced €20, will be available from Bodytonics new bar; The Bernard Shaw, 11-12 Sth Richmond Street, Portobello, Dublin 2 and City Discs, Temple Bar, Dublin 2.
