Sourcing door for FridgeFreezer

I need to find a replacement door for the freezer of a zanussi fridge/freezer. I have checked the new price for one and if I go that route, it would be more economic to buy a new unit altogether.

Is it possible to get spares from these places that collect the old fridges etc.?

Most electrical shops have areas now for goods taken back for recycling. I guess it would be no harm to ask a few if they have one that was taken back that you could swap the door on.

A lot of the shops dont keep the old ones any more and send them strait for recycling...I needed a fridge part and phoned my local recycling centre who gave me a "NO"...
Post a picture of the fridge door and we'll see ann it be repaired..

    Zanussi Fridge/Freezer
    Model:Z 56/3 SI
    Product No. 925 881 658
    Serial: 13000088

The freezer door doesnt seem to have as good a hold as the fridge door above it. Having said that, I hope I dont go to the trouble of replacing door to find that its the dents shown in pic 1 that are causing the problems...

I was wondering whether they would cooperate with this sort of request. Anyone know what centre I should call to in Galway/Sligo/Athlone??

Also, was wondering if theres a way of turning off the freezer part of this fridge freezer. I would have assumed that there would be a separate switch for each but I only see 1 switch in the fridge???

Cant tell a lot from the pics but wondering is the ice build-up affecting the seal. Try defrost the freezer and see if there's an improvment. The doors are likely to be interchangable so you could swap them to verify if its the door or the dents.
I dont believe there's an option to switch off freezer and not fridge.

I tried this - it took 3/4 weeks to build up to the level visible in the pic.

If you want to try getting new doors, call Wallace Electrical in Friary Street, Kilkenny City - they've never been unable to get anything I've asked them for.

I can source a new door no probs - aside from the pricetag of £106 supply only!!(whitegoods spares are murder).

    Try

    http://www.appliancepartsdirect.net/

    email : info@appliancepartsdirect.net

They can be hard to get hold of (only draw back) - but know what they are talking about and can get the parts quickly.

from the pics it actually looks like it's the other way around , the top left part of the seal looks slightly out of line meaning you'll get that kind of ice build up

when you say the door doesnt have a good hold i presume you mean the "suction" feeling? if thats what your talking about then it's definitely the seal

i'm not familiar with zanussi models but alot of the FF's that i fix where i work have push in and removable seals so try run your fingers firmly around the seal and see if any part is loose (particularly top left)
