New Dow High??

Does anyone find it irritating the lazy way that the business media gets all happy clappy when the Dow reaches a new nominal high. Given that if you had bought the Dow in Euros you would still be sitting on a 50% loss plus the 5 years of inflation which would have reduced the return even further.
