My air conditioning is acting up.
I suspect the resistor pack on the fan blower may have packed up.

Mazda 626 saloon yr 2000 - anybody know if there is a replacable resistor pack on this model or will I have to get a whole motor ?

    problem:
    press air con switch
    air condition light goes on
    turn on fan
air con light goes on - but fan does not operate - position 1,2 and 3
fan blows only at position 4 - air condition light goes off. But no cool air.

    Hmmm............

Yep - sounds like the resistor pack alright. I don't if the part is available spurious. You may have to call the main dealer - they will, at the very least, be able to tell you if the resistor pack comes seperately.

A search of the internet might throw up some other suppliers of the part.

Looks like the resistor is seperate > http://www.drivewire.com/mazdaparts/heaterblowermotor.html

    Hmmm...........
Dealer has it listed - no stock yet .
    55 Euros plus VAT - say 70 :( not good .
For a couple of resistors !!

Maybe not too bad if it lasts another 5 years .............. :)

Describe the problem. Is it working at all, working in certain speed ranges, etc, etc???
