Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Despite denials from Bohemians, it certainly looks like Sean Connor will be unvailed as the new Bohemians manager. The current Sligo Rovers boss will sign the top 6 players in the Eircom league, the top 5 players int he Irish league and will take in a number of "big name international signings" from abroad. Peter Thompson from Lingfield could be his first for an Eircom League transfer record fee.

Hope its true, best man for the job.

Bohs the Irish Chelsea. Wonder what they mean by big international signings? Saw somewhere else on here that Collymore might be making a return, please let that be a coincidence :)

Wonder what they mean by big international signings?

Probably another has been Irish internatonal after Farrelly and Foley worked out so well

That's what I thought they meant. What's Phil Babb doing?

    Here we go again.

And by the way, have you a cite for this, or have you just pulled it from the Bohemian Pit of Manager Stories?

great manager but it is laughable to think he will be signing the top 6 players in the EL not a hope......

Money talks, offer any 5 players at shels more money and they be gone like alight then you only need one more Anto Murphy of Pats would be him, be a shame if Bohs took him off us a real crying shame, best player in the league by a mile.

Bohs members at a meeting asked the board to get OConnor, thats about it so far.

I hope he doesnt go , Sean has been grreat for the club , is a really progressive manager and is certainly going places. This would be disasterous for the club if he does go.

Agreed with gustavo. I really hope that this story isn't true and that Connor stays with us. We need him.

Surely the thread title should be edited untill there is any official word.

Maybe so but they would defo not be getting Jason Gavin and he is the best player in the league IMO.

I think next season will be interesting because you have good teams like Shels and Derry and cork and then the Drogs have money to get stronger again as do St. Pats and now Bohs. The EL is getting better and better and more competitive than ever before.

When are they expecting this money? Surely they won't be getting it for a few years yet?

Im trying to decide if your being sarcastic or just over excited at a few decent performances in a row after being useless most of the season

The job was offered to John Gregory but he turned it down to join QPR.

It's doubtful you'll get a Bohs Board member posting here with a definitive explanation of the ins and outs of the deal.

    But.

I have read that once the deal is signed (which it hasn't been, yet) they(Bohs) will get a €3m downpayment from the developer. Both sides would be a bit foolish to agree to any deal until such time as planning permission is granted for the Dalymount Park site (for apartments and the like, which is up in the air as far as I can see, given the nature of access to the site, you have to walk down lanes betweent houses to get into the ground on two sides, no access at the shopping centre end, and the Des Kelly end isn't much more accessable.), and the proposed new site for the new stadium (Harristown, apparently the proposed site lies under flight paths, or proposed flight paths for the new terminal at Dublin Airport. Floodlights could impact on planes landing and taking off). The rest of the money (€62m - apparently the whole deal is worth €65) would them come to Bohs. The new stadium is apparently going to cost around €30m to build, leaving Bohs with a net profit of around €35m.

On both points, we all know how notorious the planning strategy is in this country, I'd be surprised if either development got underway in the next five years. <-- my opinion, perhaps one of the Bohs posters can paint a brighter picture.

The deal is not contingent on PP. The developer is taking that risk.
The figures break down better than those cited here.
The money starts flowing while the stadium is being built.
    Is that bright enough? :D

 Was Ollie negotiating for Bohs?

 How do they break down then?

I suppose it would need to.

Don't see it. There was no member push for Connor, AFAIK. Hardly covered himself in glory last night!
