Broadband with Eircom / Phone with BT

Is it possible to have phone with BT and take Broadband from Eircom.?? I know its not sensible but my friend has phone with BT but wants to go to Eircom for first time Broadband. Thing about backup and relability of service. They have had the usual initial billing problem with BT. I think myself the Totaltalk + broadband…

I think myself the Totaltalk + broadband 1MB at €45 is a good deal and would be a good alternative.
Any suggestions. ???
