    This weekend on The Groovebox @ Powerfm.org .....

    Ill be airing a mix from Danny Bonnici , one of the most original talents in dance music today with a musical career spanning 15 years.

    Over the past 6 years, Danny has been at the forefront of the Australian scene as frontman of one of the country’s biggest dance acts, Nubreed. He’s pleased crowds the world over with his raw stage presence and energetic live shows. As part of Nubreed he’s worked on an album and over a dozen singles, as well as remixes for the likes of Junkie XL, Tiesto, Crystal Method, Scritti Politti, and Way Out West, to name a few. Now, in 2006 he is pushing the envelope further with a new solo show. Using Ableton Live, Danny is causing a commotion with his own style of dirty 4/4, electro, and breaks.

    Danny has recently hooked up with old sparing partner Luke Chable to put together HIDDENFORM 001,full of hard-hitting action for that midnight club vibe whilst retaining subtle moments which sooth the ears for home listening pleasure. By utilising high-quality tracks from the likes of Robert Babicz, Daniel Taylor, John Morgan & Kevin Shiu, the album hits the heights with a strong selection mixed with ease, cohesion, and creativity throughout. The inclusion of Lifelike & Chris Menace’s Ibiza anthem “Discopolis” provides a real anthemic moment, while Zen Kei’s “The Blast” provides a sublime mid-mix twist. Inevitably, the production talents of Luke and Danny shine through, with Danny’s “Break Da House” and Luke’s “Swedish Meatballs” tracks rounding off the mix. Chable’s collaboration with Phil K on LoStep’s beautiful “Little Peaking” kicks in a little earlier to spice things up even more. But the track quality is so high throughout, it’s hard to pick favourites. It’s quite simply two of Australia’s finest totally on form.
