Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I looked everywhere for a setting that allows applications to write data but couldn't find anything. Just network access settings. Nothing at all gets saved. Even without exiting the application if I save my details and then go back into settings they're gone again. This didn't make much sense to me considering that I was still able to send texts after saving the settings. Are they in temporary memory or something until the application quits?
OK DS I put up a new version. can you please download it (same link) and try again.
No-one else need download this as it will not make any difference if the app is already working on your phone.

Cool I'll give it a go as soon as I can. It's actually for my sister's phone and she's in Dublin for the week so I'll have to wait until then to try it. I'll let you know the results, thanks a million.

I have it installed on a Nokia E61 - works great except for one thing. I have a different theme where the text is set to white - problem is AFT seems to ignore this and set the text to black which means I can't see it against a black background.

Look at the AFT Application Options and what's on the list and describe what's greyed out?

When configuring access point have you used the correct data packet network type?

And now it's gone again. Dunno what the problem is this time. Go to send a text...it vibrates....says messages left, and the light on the phone goes out. but the message doesn't send.

Vodafone is hit and miss on this (and Multitext too)
I was sending texts and finding that they weren't being delivered and the same number of messages remaining. So I thought would the result screen be loading from cache. So I cleared cache and tried again and got a long list of stuff starting as in the attached notepad

    So what's this about then?

Maybe it's the reinstalling it, or maybe it's this new version...but it's working again now.

I get the same sometimes.. Also other error messages like "invalid account", "insufficient credits", when sending, even if I have call credit left and messages left in my webtexts.. Guess the server is down.

Only one time, but then I went into the settings and reentered my password and now it works...

The latest version which is AFT 1.2. But make sure you have the MIDP 2.0 version, which is here:

AFT definitely works on k800i and it definitely works on vodafone, so it must be that your phone connection settings aren't configured properly. Can you normally connect to the web on your phone?

Is there a GPRS WAP setting or something? I am really not that sure as I don't have vodafone.

Can anyone vodafone users help him out?

(btw, does the thread search on boards work for anyone?)

you need to find a vodafone isp setting and activate it for app access

    access point name = isp.vodafone.ie
data bearer = gprs / data pacets / whatever SE call it
    username = vodafone
    password = vodafone

i know nawthing about SE, but if you want to buy me one, i'm a fast learner

AFT is not working reliably on Vf now so you're probably better to avoid until it's sorted

Looks like the O2 website is acting up again, the last few days when i have been trying to use AFT, nearly everytime it fails, usually three or four attempts to actually send a message. First i thaught something was up with the AFT portal, but just tried to send a webtext from the o2 website and get this error

    Bad Gateway

The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.

Maybe they have copped on and are thinkin of a way to block AFT:D:D:D
    if there is a way;)

    I'm with Vodafone.
I've just sent 2 messages with AFT and on both occasions the number of remaining webtexts dropped by 1. Messages appeared to send successfully, but neither was received, but was charged 2c both times. Tried sending through Vodafone site and message was received.
Problem with AFT? It has been working up until now.
p.s. Can something be added to AFT to show the version you are using

They are not trying to block AFT, cos as you say, the actual o2 site is not able to send messages (I am also having problems tonight). Unfortunately AFT, by its very nature, is entirely dependent on the o2 website being up. And the o2 website is a disgrace.

EDIT: And now the o2 site is back up again.

Just wondering dal, I think I remember you said you had a counter on your portal for the amount of times people have tried to use AFT. Think it was about 300 after a week or so. Just outa curiosity, whats that counter up to now? Think you said it was a counter for the amount of times people tried to send a message and not the amount of texts actually sent

Thats right, IIS does log all requests, so I can see that someone requested sendsms.aspx

This is standard server behaviour, and pretty much any site you visit, the server will log your requests, over the last month it has been accessed quite a bit, although I wont post numbers here mainly so Meteor/Vodafone doesnt find out that easily how much is actually spent.

No personally identifiable data is logged anyway

Have set it up to work perfectly on my brothers Nokia 6230i which has all the same settings as my 6233 but still can't get it to work on my own phone.

Has anybody got this to work on a 6233? I wouldn't like to buy an expensive paper weight
