Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just wondering would having a dedicated graphics card on a laptop make DVDs run any better ?

    Generally speaking, no.

Depends if the combination of the CPU and GFX (inboard or not) combined is capable of playing back a DVD smoothly. For example my PIII 733 and onboard isn't but stick a fx5200 in there and it is.

Basically on any modern machine its as tom dunne says.

If you are having problems, it's more then likely that it's a software or possibly optical hardware issue, unless you're using an old Pentium 2 laptop with onboard or similar....generally speaking onboard video is perfectly fine for watching dvds, again, unless its a truly ancient machine.
