Spotted an abandoned car which looked it was raided for parts in the streets of D4 this afternoon and decided to take a pic :)

Looks like it was a Renault 21 at some stage. Maybe the owner of the Laguna Diesel which imploded in the other thread took it. :D

I thought it was a Vectra.

    It's definetly a Vectra/Cavalier.

Was the engine removed before it was abandoned or after!? I could just picture someone with an engine crane pulling out the engine on the side of the road! :D

    Yeah I think it's a Vectra too.

Car looks like it was abandoned as is, to avoid disposal costs. No reg plate, tax, NCT or insurance discs. Engine was probably removed before car was dumped. Council are obliged to dispose of it.

    Not your ornery onager

    Wonder would a 2.0 litre V6 fit ? :D

Spotted this near Clonsilla - it was there for a few days and has since gone - was kinda surprised, as it's not the usual "crap" that gets abandoned.

Dodgy-looking damage to the screen and bonnet? Maybe someone dropped in.

Whos responsibility is it to remove abandonded cars from the side of the road? The gards or the council?

For 2 weeks I passed a car abandoned outside the cement factory on the tallaght bypass (on the m50 roundabout) and watched it gradually get worse. For the first few days it was a relativly intact car ( think it was an escort, wasnt really paying attention) then each day it started getting worse, till after about a week it had its windows put in, bonnet open etc. It was in bits till it eventually dissapeared.

I've seen this happen a good few times over the years. Why is it that the powers that be leave them for ages till eventually they get vandalised, and suddenly become a problem?

The council is meant to get it shifted. Give them a call
