hey, anyone know how to install this after windows?

it's iso linux and the installer seems to fail if the disk is anything but unpartitioned, i was considering sticking a blank disk in and imaging it over the current disk, obviously the disk is now setup with everything i want and the last thing i want to do is blank it, hoping some linux heads might know how to reconfigure the isolinux installer to just install on the disk!

i've used partition magic to create a 150MB partition at the start of my disk, but instant on stills fails.

    any suggestions welcome, tks

yes that's it, the MSI release & I've also downloaded the 1.01 version from msicomputer website, just seems like the installer is very rigid.

i've a msi 865 pro since they first came out last year, works very well but need to boot into MCE to play dvd's etc, would love to get the instant on working

I'm not familiar with the software myself, from MSI's own forums on the matter they simply seem to confirm what you are saying install on a clean HD then install Windows afterwords.

Not sure just guessing but one way I think is if you could use Ghost to clone the Windows install to another HD (maybe Partition Magic does this it's been a while since I used it) anyway wipe the HD and install InstantOn then use Ghost to put back the image of Windows but make it re-size the partition to whatever is not used by InstantOn.

Might not work if there is anything funky InstantOn does

Ye I think I'll have to do something like this, no PM won't copy anything.

Will let you know how I resolve it, must sort it this week, tks
