Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi Guys,

Talking to a buddy of mine in OZ on IRC about all this Telco stuff and LLU etc [ or as it is know downunder ULL dont you know ]. The incumbant over there is Telstra [ OZ'es Eircom - I think ]. It pretty much reads the same. They were also privatised inc infrastructure and have since been hampering progress too:

    http://www.budde.com.au/Reports/Contents/Australia-Unbundling-of-the-Local-Loop-ULL-3029.html

"The unbundling of the local loop or in more technical terms Unconditioned Local Loop Services (ULLS) involves the use of unconditioned cable (typically copper) between end-users and a telephone exchange, where the cable terminates. This service enables access seekers to supply advanced, high-speed data services, such as DSL, to customers as well as local and long-distance voice services in competition with Telstra. As a result, fundamentally new services can be developed which stimulate innovation, competition and new growth. Telstra has been hampering progress since 1998 it was not until the ACCC received new powers under a new Act that some progress was made in 2003; new tariffs were announced in December 2004, by 2006 progress was still non existent."

Ah yes, sounds all to familiar, doesnt it,
Well at least we are not alone :)

    LLU for Dummies :)

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Local_loop_unbundling

Further down the page is the state of LLU in other countries to date. Anyone want a stab at adding the state of LLU in Ireland to this? Feel free - it is a WIKI after all! Click the EDIT button to the right of "Unbundling developments around the world" header further down and off you go.

I would, but I do not have enough of the LLU tech or info,
    Cheers
    Aidan
