    or

    blog.site.com

    Which is best for SEO, considering I already have www.site.com optimised

    I don't think it would make much difference in terms of seo

    http://blog.blacknight.ie has the same Google PR as our main site

    Another thing to consider is future development of your website.

    If you use a separate sub-domain you can maintain it regardless of any changes you make to the main site ...
