Great if you're downloading massive blocks of text, not much use at all if you're downloading images, videos, or pretty much anything other than large blocks of text actually.

It works by compressing what goes between your computer and the rest of the internet. Unfortunately, nearly everything online is compressed pretty well as it is, simply because it needs to be.
