Is there some official way to request google earth to show higher resolution pictures of certain parts of Ireland? For instance, in the last 6 months or so certain parts of north county dublin (up to skerries) got the images upgraded. balbriggan is still very low resolution.

I doubt very much if you can request more recent images for a certain area.

I can tell you that the higher-res images from The Blackhills south are around 18 months old as the fields used for car parking for the concerts in Ardgillan last year aren't levelled yet in the images currently on GE.

It seems any place that I'm really interest in is low res as to b useless.

    What's the latest version?

Please let us know what they say

I think that a lot of the very close stuff is aerial photographs , rather than satellite ones, so they would have to source them locally, eg dublin county councills photograph the areas and later compare them to old ones to see if anyone has built an extension without planning permission, maybe they sell them on ??

either wait till google does it for you free :(
    Or
Next time you are watching CSI try to identify the software they are using, it will give a 10X on any image no matter the original quality
    Or
see price list below (pdf on spot website) to see how much you could buy it for yourself.

I suppose google gives priority to customers who pay them (the golden rule)
