Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

they know your imei number definitely. i think that can be matched to a phone manufacturer and maybe the model. why?

Yes it is possible to tell what phone you have from the IMEI number, but I'm betting that the networks here (I'm talking the customer service center ppl) don't check this.

You can generally match IMEIs up to phone model pretty easy using something like this: http://www.numberingplans.com/?page=analysis&sub=imeinr

Obviously, if the handset was issued by the network they'll have the info anyway.
