Hi we recently replaced our front door and frame. Our door supplier/fitter told us that Rathmines Glass would be able to put in nice leaded double glazed glass for a few hundred €. We got a rough quote from them for €2,500:eek:

This is way more than we budgeted for.

Where can we go to get some nice glass with some leadding (or lead effect)and colour for a reasonable price. We are not looking for really ornate stained glass, just something smart, amd appropriate for the door.

I have attached a pic of the door frame and a pic of the type of look we would like.

Would really appreciate any advice on where to go and what to expect to pay.

    this is our door

something like this would be nice.

    thanks

That price sounds is not completely out of whack. Just to re-glaze your windows with laminated glass is going to cost you a couple of hundred euros (you always have to front stained glass with laminated glass because stained glass is a magnet for burglars). Stained glass is a craft product. You would probably find someone to do it a bit cheaper though.

It looks like this might be what you are looking for:

It would be interesting to see what the results with this would be like.

It will still cost you a bit to put new plain glass (laminated) in this front window.
