Laying Decking

hi, Does anyone know if it is ok to lay decking on top of patio slabs. i wanted a deck area out in my back garden but dont want to go to the trouble of taking up all the slabs and the concrete below them, anyone got any ideas and things to watch for while laying decking? Tony

I layed mine on an old patio I used 2X2 pressure treated battons and took up the odd slab to allow drainage
