First time buyer (from ads).....need advice

I'm on the lookout for a motor (Cork/Kerry region) & picked these few ads from a local rag. My budget is €2,500 & because I know sweet fa about cars, am looking for a reliable starter. Can anyone offer advice on the following cars please?

I'm told to keep away from Hyundai - sound advice?

Some cars here have high mileage, should I steer clear of those?

Avoid any car which doesn't list the milage in the advert, this tells you it's either clocked or owned by someone who doesn't know the first thing about cars. As for milage if there's a verifiable service history with a car I would gladly purchase that car ahead of one with double the miles which I couldn't check. It;s also best avoiding a car which has less than 6 months of it's NCT remaining as it's quite possible the owner knows of issues that may arrise and has decided to sell it on prior to the test.

It could tell you that the owner simply didn't put the mileage on the ad too!

The only car likely to give trouble there is the Polo.

The Accent should be as reliable as the Almera, just not as nice to drive.
