Cut the grass last night (hopefully for the last time) with my Ok pertol lawnmower. Hasnt rained in ages and still the grass is very damp, very little goes into the box, it just gathers in the base, eventually clogging up. Pain to remove. Any tips, maybe clean out the base VERY well, and spray non-stick stuff on? Ok pertol lawnmower.

If you cut it after about 6 pm there will be dew on the grass and it will be very sticky.
Your best bet is to wait until a weekend and do it midday (assuming its dry)
Also, the longer you leave your grass between cuts the more likely it is to be both wet and sticky.

    The story goes -

Warm air is able to hold more water vapor than cold. As day draws to a close the air cools which decreases its ability to hold water - This continues until a temp is reached which will result in the air becoming saturated. At this point the atmosphere has to loss some water so the vapor is converted into condensation (Dew).

Simple answer is not to cut grass when you feel it getting cooler in the evenings (Also bring in any clothes on lines)

Saw a tip on a calender the other day, it said to spray vegtable oil on the blades and underside of lawnmower deck to stop wet grass sticking to it. Haven't tried it so I can't say if it's effective or not!

Cut the grass when its dry. Also some lawnmowers just don't fill the box very well.
