horn problems

    Hi

    There is a problem with the horn on my car. It only seems to work intermittently (mainly when the car has hust been started) .The car is a fiat seiciento . Anybody have any advice on this?

    Investigate. The contacts must be wonky or a wire loose perhaps.

    Disconnect the contacts, and spray some WD40 on them. Its probably just a bit of corrosion around the contacts.

    Alternatively try Viagra. :D

    cant even see where the horn is on the car (apart from being under the bonnet)...anybody know?

    It is usually found around the radiator grill area. Looks like a circular disc with another disc in the centre. (See pic). There will be two small (detachable) wires running onto it.

    Unless the horn is also used for an alarm in some models of seicento, in which case it will be hidden behind a bumper or somewhere else horrible.

    I'd put my money on the switch on the steering wheel though.

    I knew before I opened this thread that somebody was going to say that!!!

    Sounds like a loose connection but you'd never know with a fiat, my father had a bravo a few years back that refused to start when the engine was warm, ie if he went into a shp for a paper and came back out to the car it wouldn't start
