Quick Question

Hi,

I have broadband from Eircom and have the normal Netopia modem. The modem is downstairs beside my PC and it is connected to the modem by USB. I have a laptop upstairs and I ran an ethernet wire up through the house into my bedroom and that is connected by that. I also have an Xbox 360 so I swap the ethernet wire between the two when I use them. Recently I have been thinking of getting a wireless modem and a wireless laptop card for the laptop so I can leave the ethernet wire in the back of the Xbox the whole time and have the laptop wireless.

The laptop card and modem. Do you think this would be the best solution or would you recommend something else.

That page says that the router is "wi-fi 802.11b certified". If that's true, you don't want it (especially at that price).

You'd be better off checking www.adverts.ie and www.buyandsell.ie for a second hand Netopia wireless router. You'll also pick up a USB wireless adapter for about half the price eircom are charging.

Or get this DLink modem/router and adapter bundle for the price of the modem/router alone from eircom.
