Hope this is the right spot for it, so many forums on boards these days it is hard to know :)

Last friday a company doing works on behalf of the council managed to dig up the phoneline belonging to my fathers business, as a result we lost all ability to make and recieve calls/faxes etc. It was eventually fixed today by eircom, despite being told on friday, and only after managing to get a hold of an engineer I know who works for them.

It is one of the busiest times of the year for his business and custom will have been lost due to this outage, is there any comeback against either the council or the company doing the work on behalf of the council?

Any advice would be greatly welcomed.

*edit* perhaps legal issues this is more suited to?
