    You appear to have missed the point completely. There should be no need for any signs in the first place, as a boardwalk in a city prone to rain should not have a surface that tends to become slippery in the rain.

    Well since so many others walk on it without slipping, then perhaps the problem is down to the footwear that some wear.

    Otherwise, people expecting the surface not to be slippery (as it shouldn't be), are going to slip.

    This is getting silly. Wood is slippy, the wooden bridge to dollymount is, the boardwalk is, decking is, marinas are.... Just take care.
