Apologies if this topic has already been dealt with but does anyone know when the Charlesland playground (beside Jackie Skellys) is going to open? I did hear that it was ready to go but that there was some issue with finding someone to manage it. Does anyone know anything else? I have been keeping an eye out but still haven't seen any kids in it.
    Thanks a lot.

we were up there the other day and it was open, though the path up to it is blocked off you can walk across the grass.

compared to the playground at the south beach, its not great. There's 7 benches for parents to sit on but only 5 pieces of equipment for the kids, and loads of empty space. the astroturf surface is a bit odd too.

Indeed we had a look up there a while back. It's a dismal and half hearted attempt at ticking off some of the boxes required to obtain planning permission in the area.

If anybody has seen the childrens playground in Cabinteely park, that is what a proper, well planned playground looks like. The kids love it.

some sort of direct access onto the main road from Charlesland Grove would be useful for accessing the recreation park. In Ch. Wood there is a gate out onto the main road beside the stream. A gate beside Puroga would save Grove\Park residents from having to walk the long way round. (A gate beside the old farmhouse would be even better, but people living in adjoining houses might not be too keen).
