Mondeo seat

    I recently got a 2001 Mondeo.
It's not a bad car, but the driver's seat is absolutely awful. The lumbar support digs right into my lower back, and no matter how I adjust it I can't get comfortable.
I have tried out a padded seat cover, and one of those lumbar rolls, neither of which did any good.
Just wondering if any other Mondeo owners have the same thing, and if anyone knows what I can do about it?

http://www.honestjohn.co.uk mentions that the earlier models may have uncomfortable seats due to "the plastic pins holding the moulded padding in place can actually protrude through to the seat face" but this was apparently fixed in later models.
Might not be the same issue thugh.

I'm hoping to buy a 2002/03 Mondeo in the next week and hope this isnt a common issue :(

Interested in any other peoples thoughts here also.

I recently bought a mondeo zetec - the seats are different to the ones in the lx model, in that the seat base is longer and gives more support to the backs of your legs near your knee joints.
I find the seats firm, but very comfortable.

I remember reading some mondeo review on the net where another person found the seat uncomfortable (the lumbar adjustment). It mentioned that the dealer removed the springs for the lumbar support, and it greatly improved matters. I'll have a trawl for it, and post the link if I find it.

I sympatise with the op though if he finds the seats uncomfortable - I once owned a vectra which always gave me backache.

Thanks gyppo - if you could find the thread that would be great. That sounds like the kind of thing that would work.
I have a Zetec too, didn't know the seats were different to the LX

I have an 01 Zetec for the last 2 years and find the seat very uncomfortable as well. Owned a octavia previous and never adjusted the seat, while with this car I seem to be always adjusting it and shifting in the seat.
