Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Citizen takes place on the 20th of October at 8pm in Eamonn Dorans.

    THE KINETIKS

    THE REVELLIONS

    DESERT INN

    THE URGES
    THE CLAP

    10 / 9 euro

Kinetiks, a four-piece from Dublin are a band with an infectiously captivating pop rock sound, fusing the pop sensibilities of early tunes by The Who and The Beatles with the streetwise, gutsy energy of The Libertines and The Strokes, with a hearty touch of teenage romance shrouding each sub three-minute track. Simple, catchy and charming naivety best describe The Kinetiks.

Kinetiks live reputation for enthusing even the most comatose of crowds has seen them booked by promoters all over the city, including eminent support slots with the likes of the UK's Young Knives and Black Wire. Charismatic front man Gaz Harding's insolent vocals tread recklessly over well-paced melodies with surf-rock and viscerally burnished riffs, If nothing else, this boy is destined for stardom; he'll have a fair run at it with The Kinetiks.

The Revellions formed just one short year ago, they rehearsed for a bit, took a short break to finalise their line-up – and then hit the Irish music scene with a BANG! With influences including the likes of Dick Dale, The Ventures and The Chocolate Watchband, they combine the gut-wrenchingly raw sound of a garage band in heat with a smooth heroin surf atmosphere. The band is composed of a pounding rhythm section, a sharp yet moody organ and a front man/guitarist who shoots out daunting guitar riffs like early morning target practice. Very loud, very fast and very cool. Not one to miss

Desert Inn Formed around 2005 and in April 2006 ditched their former name (Mescalito). They deliver catchy guitar riffs which give way to beautiful intertwining guitars at parts, a pounding rhythm section and driving vocals. Combined they provide rock music to dance to. Put simply, they deliver. They’ve been steadily growing a fan base in the Dublin music scene and are definitely one to watch over the coming months.

The Urges will make a guest appearance at Citizen, pumping the tunes out between bands. They play on as though their lives and those of four generations of garage fans depended upon it. (www.myspace.com/theurges)

The Clap are an international dance rock party. like to dress up and DJ **** hot music whilst clapping, dancing and drinking. Sometimes, they even do it all at the same time................... amazing really! (www.myspace.com/clapclub)
