red brick fireplace design

about to start building our fireplace with reclaimed red brick. wondering what shape and design to go for. does anyone know of any good sites for inspiration. P

Was looking at doing this myself recently and was doing a bit of Googling looking for designs.

Not a huge amount of info out there, I came across these sites that may be of interest:

You can also perform a Google image search for 'brick fireplace' and see what comes up.

The best thing to do is get a simple CAD package and do up some simple designs yourself, it's not that difficult.

I'm not sure you can use just any recovered brick for a fireplace?

Do the bricks close to the heat source not need to be fire proof?
