    Hi

Been trying to source two large 7 foot wooden gates, 3 ft paddock gate and a 3ft pedestrian gate. Tried lots of different places and all are just over 2k for the lot including fittings but excluding posts for large gates and paddock gate.
Leinster Timber Products, Sheerins and others all around the same prices for Scandanavian Pressure treated hardwood.

Have now found Abwood will do the lot for under 900 euro. The only difference is that they used Scandanivan pressure treated soft wood.

All companies give same guarantee. All are custom making the gates to order...some maybe a bit more fancy than others. We are painting these and our four rail fencing black anyway.

Very tempted by the better price. Still have lots to do with the house outside besides this!

I would appreciate people's views on the pressure treated hardwood vs pressure treated soft wood. Fence and gate fitter says both if painted and maintained properly with fencelife or similar outdoor fence/timber product should do the same job. I am ordering the gates directly not buying through him. He says it's fine to go with the cheaper gates. What do you think? Have you used either? Looking forward to hearing your advice. Thanks.

FYI - just ordered Abwood ones. Very good value for money.
