Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

So from the dearth of threads here about it, there isn't much interest?

Waste of time, isn't it? :D

It will be interesting to see if Ed Joyce gets a run in the last game against the West Indies. After two dismal failures in the batting department I thought he would, but maybe they are going to focus on the Ashes and include players who will be playing in the Ashes?

It was such a shame that he went over on his ankle in the Twenty 20 game. Otherwise he may have cemented a spot for himself.

reckon the kiwis might be worth a few quid for the world cup, they're concentrating on the one-day game until then, no tests, and that patel lad looks a decent spinner. i know this is off topic but seeing as there aren't any new posts i'll chuck it in here. Few free bottles of Red Strip will do nicely!
    WINDIES FORECAST TO HIT IRELAND

West Indian cricket legend Courtney Walsh is coming to Ireland to urge supporters to cheer on their team in the World Cup in Jamaica next year. Ireland will play their three group matches in the Caribbean island in March – against Zimbabwe on March 15, Pakistan two days later on St. Patrick’s Day and, finally, the West Indies on March 23.

Dr. The Hon. Courtney Walsh, O.J., C.D, the former Test, Jamaica and Gloucestershire fast bowler is Jamaica’s official Ambassador for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007. He will be joined on the trip to Ireland by Robert Bryan, Jamaica Cricket 2007’s Executive Director, and David
Shields, Deputy Director of Tourism, the Jamaica Tourist Board.

The delegation will be at the Dunadry Hotel in County Antrim on Tuesday, October 31, for a reception at 6pm when they will discuss opportunities for cricket fans to travel to Jamaica for the Irish games as well as making the island a base for the entire World Cup.

The following day they will do the same at the Burlington Hotel in Dublin, also starting at 6pm.

Supporters who’ve already signed up for the trip are invited to the receptions as well as those who have still to make their arrangements.

In recent years Ireland has beaten two of its Group opponents – Zimbabwe and the West Indies – in Belfast. The top two teams in each of the four Group stages will qualify for a Super Eight league from which first will play fourth and second will play third for places in the final in Barbados on April 28. One of the two semi-finals will be played in Jamaica.

Matches in Jamaica will be held at both the brand new multi-purpose stadium in Trelawny - which will host the opening ceremony and some of the warm up games and the famous Sabina Park, which played host to its first Test Match (England V West Indies) in the 1930s. Both venues have been designed to ensure they can be put to full use long after the World Cup ends.

With a reputation for partying that matches that of the Irish, Jamaica will be in full festive spirit for the entire event, from the spectacular opening ceremony on 11 March 2007 through the St Patrick’s Day celebrations and way beyond.

However, not all of the action will take place in the cricket
stadium. Jamaica’s tourism industry is gearing up to welcome visitors across the whole island during the World Cup. Visitors can combine world class cricket with world class facilities from beaches to boutique hotels, spas to duty free shopping – great for both cricket widows and for time away from the crease.

David Shields, Deputy Director of Tourism, the Jamaica Tourist Board said: “There is an incredibly strong cricket fan base in Ireland and we are very much looking forward to meeting and personally inviting people to come and party with us in Jamaica.

“We are also gearing up across the entire island to ensure that accommodation at all levels, attractions and transport are ready so we can offer the warmest possible Caribbean welcome to visitors from across the globe,” Mr. Shields added.
