In ridiculously bad conditions, match should never have gone ahead.

Good to see Rossi on the scoresheet, anyone know what his goal was like?

No, far from it. Both sides have been very good. I can see United nicking it, but it would be very harsh on Crewe.

Great performance from Crewe tonight, with some btter finishing they would have hammered us. The young players that came in can all play but their physical size is worrying. None of them look ready for Prem football.

The senior players werent much help, Heinze, Silvestre and Smith were players who do need games but were very bad tonight. Brown was surprisngly poor. Richardson was our most creative player, if he lost this big time charley attitude I might actually give him a chance of making it at OT.

    Solskjaer, what a finish.

Also John Ostemobor(spelling) was brilliant for Crewe tonight.

Just saw the highlights on utv. Fowler looking great in th efew bits they showed. Super finish, you never lose skill like that.

Now for the bad, what the hell is going on with defending under Benitez? For readings 2nd (i think) there were 3, yes 3 reading players unmarked on the back post. This seems the norm lately. Ferdinands goal at the weekend, when the ball is first played in there are 5 utd players on th efar corner of the 6 yard box V 2 liverpool players. Thats just disgracefull.

If you watch when teams are coming up to Liverpools box, against all opposition, there is nearly always a spare player on the back post.

Also, why was Peltier ( a centre midfield player) playing right full?

Wow some terrific goals there. I particularly enojoyed the classy Fowler and Crouch finishes. Typical Risse strike too, and a wonderful header from Solano. It woulda been nice if the camera person didn't make a balls up for his bicycle kick, but thanks a lot all the same for uploading!

United were very poor, but I was impressed with Richie Jones (not D Jones which I thought the game passed him by a little). GK was great. Gray,Richardson and Solskjaer weren't bad either. But a lack luster performance by the holders

great to see Rossi score, hopefully he'll get more games at the Toon before his return to Old Trafford

united have a habit of struggling against lower opposition in early rounds, exeter, burton and now crewe.it could have gone either way, crewe were the better team for the first 70 minutes and kinda ran outta steam, united had several chances to win it after that, but i was prepared for pens. in general, most of the united team were poor, especially the likes of browne, silvestre and smith, ole was about the best we had and i liked the look of the barnes lad, he has potential. well done to crewe, what football is all about. id say ronaldo and rooney will be traveling to southend next time around.
most pleasing aspect of the night was to see rossi score

Crewe were good, harsh on them, felt they deserved a replay, and i was happy to see it so the young guns could show themselves.

Anyone who has been following the reserves this year shouldn't be suprised by this preformance, nearly all the decent young players are out on loan somewhere, and this really is a shell of a team.

Ritchie Jones did well, but he has been playing in the reserves this season so has some match fitness. David Jones on the other hand, as Fergie pointed out, hasn't played a match yet, so while he showed glimpses of skill, it was clear he wasn't going to impose himself.
