Gubbie and Dajaffa cant both run!Thats not fair! How am I meant to choose! Both would do a great job, both are lovely people, both are boardies.....I cant choose!!
As for the socialist party ,i have a lot of criticism of them and indeed a few run ins with them in the past, and i dont like their towards S.U. council but many of their members have been very active on key student issues like grants and cutbacks more so than any Fianna Fail members.
They may have been active but they were self confessed horrific class reps, neither representative of their class. First and foremost class reps should represnt their class,Liasing with lectureres, organising class trips and class nights out. If the class reps did this more then perhaps the union would get support for grants and cutbacks issues, cos at the moment they dont.

Two boardsies running? Interesting. :p And could there be a third, or even fourth boardsie in the mix?

Really? I thought you had a lot of work to do in Engineering.

The KBC don't block vote though. They don't get together before hand and work out how they will vote. Unlike the socialists, who recently admitted that they do. I understand that certain Labour Youth members are part of that cabal (open to correction).

    With respect, that's completely untrue.

I have never in my entire life got together with any group and decided within that group to block vote on any issue at Council.

The post made that suggested that was by a member of the SP and no other group. FYI - there are no members of the Socialist Party on Council this year.

Labour Youth have never, ever done that.

    ^For the record^

Secretary = Poisioned Chalice. Horrible Job which nobody realoly wants. Furthermore, nobody could do a job like Gav. He was the best secretary ever !!! Gav for secretary. The union should fund is flights from Passau to Dublin

I dunno now Paddy... you're not around this year to judge the new batch.
I can't believe I've had about 5 secretarys already. Gav was very impressive ya but for what time that Tina was here in the position, she did an amazing job of it. She was always really prompt and gave us plenty of notice, sometimes twice about exec. I think if she had kept it up for the year she could have surpassed him for the job that he did.

Colin too, like Gav, has been thrown into deep water, not realising that he'd be in this position so early. And he's really put his back into it. Infact he's just like Gav-he's never had too much to do with council, didn't even get involved cos he knew councillers, but more as friends of a friend who's friends with a counciller. And we talked him into it, but he's really enthuastic about it.

You can't talk about something when you can only talk about a total of 3 secretarys

    Edit to say:
    I know my spellings crap

He is not a patch on Gav. Gav was great, stop badmouthing Gav.

She wasn't badmouthing Gav, just goodmouthing other ppl. + Colin is doing a great job, things were just a bit messy cause he found out he was acting sec at short notice before council, + is generally doing a ood job imo. I mean I doubt Gav was amazing from day 1, you have to gett used to the job.

Argh, my ears burn. And stop telling Colin he's like me, you're doing the guy a serious injustice!

    Mine do too!
How about setting up a SU Spam thread and keep all this irrelevant drivel confined to it - seeing as ye appear to need to express yours opinions on it??

I can't help but agree. considering how little it usually takes to get a thread locked around here it's remarkable how this one is staggering on.

Today is the day that the new motions are posted. It would be a good time to lock this thread.

Look at the 22 pages of minutes from last council by current vice Colin for proof to the contrary. I even think he could be better, but how does one compare Ronhaldhino with Henry if u get my drifter (mmm Drifter...... oh dammit it's nestle).

    Lock Me
