Assuming you can get NTL or Eircom and are a light user, what do you reckon is the best deal for low usage BB, perhaps including a phone bundle if thats cheaper etc. Oh and it will probably have to work with a monitored alarm, which has yet to be installed.

BT always on @ €35p/m incl. line rental. You're effectively getting always on BB for €11p/m.

Thats if you have the time and/or the patience to spend long enough on the phone to actually get through to order it:)

I always get through to sales quick enough but support are a different story. Mind you the rest don't seem to be any better atm. 3/4 of an hour waiting for Eircom support today and gave up.
They also have a free connection offer atm for online orders, so maybe (just maybe) they have the online ordering system sorted out.

Would you have a problem with monitor alarms like phone watch etc?

No. BB and alarm will both work fine. Just don't tell them about the alarm when you order. If you're worried about the alarm not working properly you can get onto the alarm company and they will fit splitter/filter.

If you can get both NTL and Eircom you can normally get Digiweb Metro , 1mbit for €20 a month and no line rental to pay.

BT come into the frame when you wish to add a call bundle but if calls are not important why bother.

And BT are currently very difficult to get thru to on the phone as Dub45 said , either sales CS or support.

I did say I would be interested in a phone bundle.

Take a look at callcost.ie they have a broadband calculator thingy on their site which might help you decide.
