I am heading off to Sligo at the weekend and am looking to treat some friends to surf lessons. Is there anywhere around Easkey where we can hire boards, suits, and lessons?

I read somewhere that it was illegal to rent boards in Ireland... but I think the Donegal Adventure Centre in Bundoran might rent them so maybe it's not illegal. I hope you're not bringing beginners out to Easky????

There are two surf schools just across the bay from Easkey, in Strandhill. Both have equipment to rent afaik. Best bet is to give them a ring.

Brought them out just to look at the waves and watch the loons surfing them. After that they are happy to just get standing up on the board and pretend they are kelly slater. Got sorted in Strandhill and found another school called Seventh Wave in Inniscrone so thanks all.

Yeah strandhill is great for beginners. There is nice surf down the left side of the beach for learning on. Also because there are two schools open in the town, you get fairly good value in your lessons.
