Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

On this occasion he's spot on. Bit late now tho, innit?

The thing is, even had the Italy goal not been scored, Australia didn't score. How could they have advanced?

The guy has no class - he didn't present the trophy to the winning captain. He needs votes for the next election from the Oceania group, which is where, wait for it, Australia are!

Damn right it's bloody late. An absolute disgrace of a decision and one that left me angry and gutted for weeks after. Typical Blatter trying to get on the right side of fans.

    No they aren't.

Australia joined the Asian Federation just after they qualified for the WC.

    I stand corrected.

Why would they do that? Surely they're a better bet to qualify from Oceania.

It was done because Oceania was denied 1 automatic qualifying place for the World Cup , meaning that every four years they have a play off with a South American side to go through(often a tough task , and making the world cup is basically decided over 2 games) . Although most Asians sides are better than ones in Oceania , qualifying as a whole will probably be easier and they also get to play better sides more regulary(Oceania is extremely uncompetitive for them and playing internationals against piss poor nations isn't going to help develop players) .

Swapping federations is a load of crap. Why dont we go find an easier federation to qualify from and join that so? Or swapp every other year to play in the african nations aswelll as the european one?

How do you work that out? All Totti's goal did was prevent extra time. The game was in the knockout stages.
