    Hi All,
I currently drive a Mitsubishi Pajero Commercial.
    It's 2004, 3.2 DID, Short Wheel Base.
It has 39,000 miles on it.
It's in tip-top condition and never been used for heavy work.

I'm thinkinig of trading it against a New Skoda Octavia Diesel 1.9 TDI base model as I'm going to be moving down the country and doing a lot more driving, and I have no need for a 3.2 L commercial any more.

The list price on the Skoda Website, for the Octavia is €23,145.

What do you think I should get on my Trade-In ?

Oh yeah, the jeep is now in my name (was in company name) so I WILL NOT have a VAT receipt when I sell the Jeep.

Any ballpark figures would be great.

I'm guessing around €19k as a trade in

I'd be happy with paying €4K along with the pajero for the octavia.

Would it lose much if I waited till the new year do you think ?

again at a guess, about €1,000 (it'd be worth waiting, A Skoda dealer will give a good price any time of the year)

    Thanks for the estimates Colm.

I'd say more like 15k without a VAT reciept and because its a swb.

15K - Seem a bit small to me

An 04 sells for around the 22-23K Mark from what I've seen (With VAT)

    Minus VAT that's 18-19 K...So hopefully I'd be allowed 18-19K against a trade in...

Also - Brand new there's only 1.5 K between the SWB and a LWB

That might be retail asking price but realistically I was offered a lwb 05 Pajero with 15k miles including VAT for 22k euros.

Nope Junkyard, I reckon a dealer will take a chance on the VAT, look at the trade book and give him around €18k (buying it in at around €16,000 and giving €2000 discount on the Octavia)

There must be some very generous dealers in Dublin that I haven't come across.:)
