which cd changer

    hope to get a seat cordoba estate and want to put in a cd changer, seat are quoting €450. plus. have a sony 10 cd changer but was told it only works with a sony head unit. any ideas????:( :confused:

    A sony headunit would probably be cheaper than a compatable cd changer. Have you tried eBay?

    i have a complete sony changer and head unit. it's the new car thats the problem . it has an intergrated system that has a cd button but only plays tape.

    Integrated stereos tend to be standard din units with a fancy dan front end that fits in with the dash. It should be possible to take out the integrated stereo and replace it with the sony one. You'll have to get a facia plate to fill the gap. You should be able to get these from a dealer or from the likes of halfords. You may need special tools to remove the integrated stereo, but if you're buying the facia plate from a dealer, they may take it out for you for free or let you borrow the tools for a short while.

    You might be able to get a facia adaptor to replace the original radio with your system.

    can't do the facia thing. it has a lcd screen for radio/blower etc. she's 2001.:)

    All I can suggest is try looking for a seat forum, it may be possible that the display can be integrated into a facia adapter, you might find somebody who's done it before.
