Saw it, but have no idea what happened.
Saw an ambulance get a garda escort toward Leopardstown.
Wonder was it a drill? Didn't think there was many industrial / chemical business where they were, as the place is mostly all offices now.

I just had a quick look on the rte website, theres noting there about anything like that. Must have been a drill because it would have been reported by now if there was. Was this early this morning because OP, you posted at about 3.

Donnybrookghost, na it was in the afternoon. I just didn't think about posting it ;) I doubt it was a drill as they were blocking off the road and the fire engines came screeching up the Leopardstown road a few minutes afterwards.

At just after 5 yesterday a police escorted amblance came flying round by the AIB near the Luas stop.
The fire-brigade was up near the Londis by the Microsoft building.
Must've been big cuz there was at least 2 ambulances and plenty of police along with the fire-engine.

    Poor sods!
That's why I don't work. It's bad for your health!

Heard (in passing on radio) that it was an anthrax scare at some building or other.

AA Roadwatch were reporting traffic chaos there yesterday afternoon due to a 'Serious Incident'. I've no idea what though.

    Hi,

I work in the building where it happened! The receptionist in Barclaycard opened an envelope that arrived in the post and there was white powder in it - apparently she ran around in a panic, into the canteen etc, thereby contaminating others. Next thing I knew the building was surrounded by ambulances, fire brigades etc. Anyone who had come into contact with it had to be decontaminated. the shower was right outside my window. We were all let in this morning so it was obviously a hoax or a disgruntled ex-employee playing a sick joke.

I am glad to hear it was just a hoax. People don't realise how much time they waste when they do these stupid pranks. The emergency services have better things to be doing than these stupid incidents.
