It does if it's under warranty.

€180 to €200 I would be thinking from a Toyota dealer.

There is EU legislation in effect from October 2003 which counteracts this.
The difference between branded and brand-independent players has
diminished following the new eu regulations from October 2003, which removed the monopoly held by the branded workshops. The advantages previously enjoyed by the branded workshops have disappeared – however, at the same time, the change in the legislation presents new opportunities for both branded and brand-independent players.
The brand-independent workshops can perform service and repairs on new cars without affecting the valid new-car warranty, provided the service is performed in accordance with the car manufacturer’s specifications and that the spare parts are original spare parts as defined in the eu definition.

So the automotive industry is no longer permitted to restrict car-owners’ choice of supplier for service, repairs and spare parts. Brand-independent workshops are consequently entitled to be authorised once the car manufacturer’s requirements are met. At the same time, branded workshops may perform service and repairs on car brands other than those of the general agent. Accordingly, the new regulations give independent workshops the opportunity to compete with their branded counterparts on equal terms.
Independent mechanics are to have the same access to all the necessary technical data, equipment and specialist tools, and on the same terms, as branded workshops.

According to what I've read, as long as the repairing/servicing garage is VAT registered, and use genuine parts as part of the repair/service, then your warranty is not invalidated, even though the garage is not a main dealership.

Well i dont know what toyota garage will charge 200/300 for a 1ST service .We charge € 135 and wash it (and yes we are a main dealer)
Just make sure you dont get ripped off

We're around the €130 mark too. Toyota dealers have a fixed pricing schedule. and none charge €230.

How's the Corolla going for you sofireland? still happy with it?

Get a price before you leave it in and specify that they get your approval before they incur an extra cent.

Think McCabes quoted me €150 to pick it up and drop back to my work place

Its going grand, averaging now 51.3 MPG, which i'm really happy with it.
Think the bushells need tightening though, will get em to look at that for me. You never got back to me with a price for the spoiler?

Was a bit perturbed to hear its being replaced in February though!!!

You told me you'd get the spoiler fitted in Malones, cos it was handier! (I think it's around €500 fitted)

It's not being replaced in February, it'll be mid year by the time you can get them, and diesels should be later again.
