Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi, Im about to ditch Eircom and get NTL Broadband max package in.

I'd appreciate it fellow posters could answer the following questions for me.

    Two Questions:

    1) Is NTL broadband reliable enough to warrant the switch

    2) I am about to buy a 'SLINGBOX' to watch/control my TV over the net. Is anyone using this with NTL Broadband? Any issues??

    Thanks.

NTL broadband is stable and reliable in my experience.

Bandwidth is an issue. NTL restrict you to a farcial 40GBs total transfer a month. Streaming media at any decent quality for hours at a time is going to get you booted off their service.

Their aftercare is woeful - they will woo you and be ever so nice once to sign you up but then nada once you have an issue.

I signed up for the 6MB connection and it was installed last Monday. I could start going on a rant - and I just did there and then deleted it. Long story short, in the past 10 days the broadband has been down for at least 7 of those days - it would turn itself on for an hour and then stop. An engineer came out yesterday to fix the problem and it was down again last night.

The front line support people are lovely and helpful but its not being resolved. I went with NTL coz in my opinion its the best value broadband package - really starting to regret it now.

So all in all, a resounding NO to your first question and I don't know the answer to your second.
